Macedonia’s fydhws has produced a squeal to his 2009 album Impressii.  On offer are 8 experimental instrumental tunes that push musical boundaries taking you on a journey of twists and turns as a result.

There is a range of influences mixed in here with elements of everything from Einstürzende Neubauten to Sonic Youth in here somewhere.  There is also a mixed bag of sounds and styles over the eight tracks.  There are high intensity hard core techno sounds (EN-20.2 and S3-09), industrial metal sounds (Нови and За Почеток), post punk/grunge sounds (L-25.2 and Slab-14.5) and spacey shoegazer vibes (Втори & TjM-26.12).

Each track is packed with distortion, samples, and whatever else the fydhws could find to throw in.  There’s a lot of experimentation on show with musical boundaries pushed in every way possible.  On top of this is a lot of layering in sounds creating a all encompassing atmosphere that drags you right into the middle of the sound and doesn’t let you out until it’s over.

This is one of the most experimental albums around at the moment.  Each track takes you on a bizarre journey with lots of twists and turns along the way.  It might not be the most accessible album to everyone and it may take a few listens to fully “get” the music here.  However if you want to hear something unusual and original than this album is for you!
